Having the Mantra to live an extraordinary life changed the trajectory of my goals and ambitions. It helped me to reach for life's great possibilities without the fear of failure. This became tested when my sons pediatrician Dr. Parks requested a consultation with my wife and I when he was four years old. Uncertain of what to expect, we attended the meeting with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. To our surprise, Dr. Park told us that our son’s cognitive development and function were extremely high. He said he would be a gifted learner, and kids like VJ needed to be challenged and put into a special learning environment that will challenge his curiosity for learning. That kind of information, while flattering, was daunting because, as a regular person, what was I going to do with a child with extraordinary possibilities? I used real estate to obtain the cash flow to send both of my children to the best schools. This journey was not without trials and tribulations during my growing stages as a landlord. I proved that you don't have to be an entertainer or a professional athlete to buy your parents a house and live an extraordinary life. Most of the seminars that I attended focused on how to finance and purchase property, so I formed my own property management company and focused on all the aspects of being a landlord - yes dealing with the tenants.Today I mentor young people in high school and college, but writing this book allows me to expand my audiance exponentially. I can't explain the sense of accomplishment that I felt when a young person would say with a look of amazement, sir, do you own this apartment building. I could see what they thought was impossible suddenly became possible. My son became an Ivy league trained Civil Rights Attorney and my daughter is a US Navy Officer.
