B League Champs, B League Champs

Using baseball and Little League as a frame, B League Champs evokes a freer time of growing up in the Sixties and is a heartfelt but unsentimental reckoning of one boy's coming of age. "The finest novel about the intersection of life and baseball since Malamud plied his craft. B League Champs is a lyrical and at the same time brightly tragic poem of Chicago reminiscent of Dybek and Algren." --David C. Schmittgens, Editor, the 50th anniversary edition of Nelson Algren's Chicago: City on the Make. B League is a must read for anyone interested in the panorama of Chicago authors and makes a great beach read.
