Munro, a cherished friend of Usamah, who recognized the significance of his memoirs and urged the editor of the "Records of Civilization" to undertake a fresh study of his life. Amin Bey Kisbany, former secretary of King Feisal, lent his intimate knowledge of Arabic culture to deciphering obscure passages, while Dr. Stephen J. Herben of Princeton University provided invaluable guidance on medieval warfare and armory terminology. Professor Henry L. Savage unraveled the intricacies of falconry and the hunt, while Professor Munro and the series editor offered invaluable critiques and encouragement.Amidst this scholarly camaraderie, the writer found steadfast support in the form of their wife, whose meticulous attention to detail brought the manuscript to life through careful proofreading, map sketching, and index preparation.Through these collective efforts, "An Arab-Syrian Gentleman and Warrior in the Period of the Crusades" emerges as a testament to the power of collaboration and scholarship.
